Christin is an assemblage artist and lives an active lifestyle as a contemporary dancemaker. She is Co-artistic Director of the Seattle-based company Coriolis Dance and is an originator of Postballet Technique, a method of movement that utilizes embodiment, imagery, and contemporary practices to inform the classical ballet vocabulary. She began practicing classical Pilates in her teens with Aliesa George and Mei Wong of Centerworks Pilates in Wichita, KS. With Pilates’ unique method of developing long, lean muscles, it was an excellent way to cross-train and further develop her athleticism. When a severe back injury sidelined her dance career for 4 years, she discovered how the modular nature and low impact of Pilates also allowed her to be physically active without pain, rehabilitating her injury and resulting in her eventual return to the stage.
She received her certification from Master Teacher Dorothee VandeWalle at Metropolitan Pilates in 2010 and has taught Pilates and dance at Redmond Pilates Center, Lifestyle Pilates, and several dance studios over the years. As an instructor, Christin is very hands-on and gives generous feedback. Her approach is to collaborate with clients in order to address issues of alignment, muscle imbalances, and body awareness, molding each session to the specific needs in a way that will help each client stand taller, move with greater ease, and feel better not just in the Pilates studio but in everyday life.
Danielle earned her B.F.A. in Dance from Stephens College in Columbia, MO in 1998. She studied anatomy and kinesiology, along with ballet, modern dance, African, Flamenco, East Indian, Tap, and Jazz. After the whirlwind of this intensive three-year accelerated program, Danielle realized that her body had survived without any injuries, despite the demanding physical challenges. In fact, she was enjoying the strength and flexibility and long, lean muscles and attributed it to the daily Pilates classes. So, she set out for Chicago and then Seattle to further train to become a Certified Pilates Instructor.
Inspired by her love of dance, Danielle brings energy and artistry to her hands-on style of teaching. She studied with brilliant teachers around the country, including Janice Dulak, Juanita Lopez, and Lori Coleman-Brown, and will always have gratitude with the hours she spent learning from the Romana Kryzanowska.
When Danielle goes home for the day, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She pirouettes weekly in dance class, gardens on the weekends, and walks everywhere.
Levi started Pilates a few years after he moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. As an athlete and D-1 club volleyball player, he was constantly looking for ways to become stronger and more limber. Competitive sports, as well as everyday life, took a toll on his body and Pilates proved to give the balance he had been seeking. Levi is certified through Metropolitan Pilates by master teacher Dorothee VandeWalle.
Jocelyn is an avid outdoor cyclist, short course triathlon competitor and golfer. After a shoulder injury in 1999, her doctor recommended Pilates for rehabilitation. She soon obtained the Stott Pilates Instructor Certification to share her Pilates passion with others.
Jocelyn teaches Pilates mat classes, private/duet sessions and cycling classes. Jocelyn’s motivating and encouraging technique leaves you with a lifted spirit and recharged energy.
Svetlana is a contortionist performance artist and an original cast member of Teatro ZinZanni. The deep knowledge of body give Svetlana skills to help her clients achieve more strength, flexibility, body control, and proper alignment.
Through decades of rigorous movement as a professional ballet and modern dancer, Lauren developed a profound appreciation for the healing power of proper alignment and intentional mind/body training. In 2015, Lauren received her certification in Classical Pilates through Metropolitan Pilates’ MAT program, lead by Dorothee VandeWale, and mentored by Martt Lawrence.
In addition to her devotion to Pilates, she’s been teaching yoga and bio-mechanics since 2004. Melding together her love of movement with the self-expression of cooking, she is a passionate healthy-eating advocate and avid at-home chef. In 2017, she launched her wellness coaching business to marry all these facets of health and well-being. She serves both individuals and companies with her unique blend of health and mindset coaching, movement plans, and lots of love.
