Amy Sommer Amy Andrews Pilates Instructor

Since childhood, Amy has been involved in the dance community, participating in ballet, jazz and modern dance classes. Then, in 1999, Amy discovered Pilates while receiving her BA at Emerson College in Boston, MA. There, Pilates was an integral component of her dance curriculum and she quickly realized the core strength and flexibility that Pilates added to her already high level of personal fitness.

Upon moving to Seattle, Amy served as the primary dance teacher at Rising Song Children’s School of Music while pursuing her certification at Metropolitan Pilates under world-renowned master teacher Dorothee VandeWalle. She enjoys customizing her Pilates sessions to meet the needs of her clients. Amy provides a spectrum of aptitude ranging from rehabilitative work for the post-surgical client to cross-training the competitive athlete and everything in between.

Most recently, Amy and her partner moved to London where she had the opportunity to teach at the internationally recognized PI Studios. Located in Chelsea, Amy quickly became part of the authentic Pilates community there, teaching and participating in workshops honoring the classical method. She is excited to be back at Seattle Athletic Club after the year abroad and looks forward to enhancing your workout with international flair.
