Rain or shine, the Northwest has some of the best outdoor recreation anywhere! The Seattle Athletic Club is proud to offer you fun filled seasonal adventure programs led by Outdoor Recreation Coach Brandyn Roark and Personal Fitness Trainer Thomas Eagen.
Hiking Club
The Hiking Club meets every 3rd Saturday of the month (rain or shine!) at the club to head out to their next trekking adventure through dense, overgrown forest, open meadows of wildflowers, or to sun bleached rocks next to an alpine lake. The hikes change with the season. Whether you want to reconnect with your body and nature through Flow: Hiking + Yoga, or you want to sweat climbing to the top of Bandera Mountain; the Hiking Club will have something for you! Join us from January to October as we explore the Cascades!
Mountain Biking
Outdoor Recreation Coach and Pro Xterra Athlete Brandyn Roark will lead you through an amazing day on the trails at Duthie Park. Are you new to mountain biking? Brandyn will teach you the skills needed to feel more comfortable on your bike out on the mountain. Have you been mountain biking for a while and consider yourself advanced? Let Brandyn show you some new tricks for better efficiency and more control. Have a great workout while learning from the best!
Leisure Bike Rides
Utilizing the myriad of trails throughout Seattle, coaches will be leading groups of riders out to explore! Have you avoided riding in Seattle due to the hectic traffic and crazy drivers? Many of the trails follow old railroad lines and connect the outskirts of the city with downtown. Have you been on the spin bike all winter? Get outside and use the muscles you have been working on!! Meeting at various locations throughout the summer, riders will experience the city from a new perspective as they cruise through some of the cities oldest parks. Get out of your car and get on your bike and ride!
Snowshoeing
From the first snowfall of the year, Seattle Athletic Club’s Snowshoe group will be out creating new trails! Did you get snowshoes for Christmas but have never used them? Explore the Cascades throughout the winter as Outdoor Recreation Couch Thomas Eagen leads snowshoers through a variety of treks. Snowshoeing is a great way to keep your legs conditioned for the summer hikes! The trails range from easy to moderate in difficulty, focusing on enjoying the outdoors, having a good time, and safety! Snowshoe trips start the 2nd Saturday of the month in December and continue until the snow melts.
